SUPPORTING SOCIAL CHANGEMAKERS

New Creatures was proud to be the production agency for the Red Bull Amaphiko Academy Baltimore.  Red Bull Amaphiko is launchpad for grassroots social entrepreneurs creating positive change in their communities. Over the course of 10 days, participants receive inspiration and mentorship, as well as learn practical skills needed to take their projects to the next level.  The initiative also features a follow-up program where participants continue to receive mentorship and support once they return home.



 
 
 
 
 

CAMP TAZO

YOU NEVER OUTGROW THE NEED FOR PLAY 

Camp Tazo is an adult summer camp experience presented by Tazo Tea.  The 3 day event for 40 campers and select media featured a combination of meaningful and playful camp-style activities designed to help campers get out of their comfort zones.  The project was hosted by drag star Alyssa Edwards and featured a talented group of artists and performers as camp counselors. Campers laughed, cried, danced, threw axes at their personal monsters, and sang around a baby grand piano at the camp fire.

Red Bull Creation is a 72-hour innovation competition that annually challenges the nation's best and brightest hackers, makers, and inventors to create something new and exciting around a unique secret topic.

Now in it's sixth year, Red Bull Creation receives hundreds of national applicants and has become a marquee and ongoing Red Bull event.

GE's #IMPROVSCIENCE

BIG IDEAS COME FROM UNEXPECTED PLACES

GE's #ImprovScience combines hard science and improvisation by joining leading experts in the fields of science and technology with the world's best improv comedians.   Scientists give a short lecture on their field of research and expertise. Once they finish, the team of improvisers (The Upright Citizens Brigade) take the stage to create sketch comedy inspired by the source material.

 

 
 
 
 
 
 

COMMON GROUND

IS IT POSSIBLE TO FIND COMMON GROUND?

"Common Ground" is a collaborative kinetic art installation about connecting America through creativity and problem solving. Artists and makers in 5 cities were asked to create kinetic installations inspired by their region and important contemporary issues in their community. All participants worked with each other to connect their pieces through common communication mediums.

 

 
 
 
 
 

The medicine show

CLIENT: Independent Project

A MODERN DAY STORYTELLING PROJECT

The Medicine Show showcases the people, and ideas shaping the future of social change. Social innovators are paired with storytellers (comedians, spoken word artists, poets, and musicians). After weeks of collaboration, storytellers take the stage and share an original piece of work showcasing the social innovator, and the important issue they are solving.

GE's BBQ Research Center was designed to feature and explain GE’s complex research initiatives through a beloved and simple medium... BBQ.

The project featured cutting-edge custom technology including a research grade 12 foot "Super Smoker" designed to capture and display cooking data.

We also assembled the best in brightest minds in meat and science to explore the mysteries behind making better BBQ.

DORITOS STAGES

CLIENT: Frito Lay/ Goodby Silverstein

IMMERSIVE CONCERT EXPERIENCE

The original (and infamous) Doritos #BOLDSTAGE quickly become known as the most interactive and unique stage at South By Southwest.  The project combined new technology with unbelievable production design, the best up-and-coming artists, and massive headliners like Lady Gaga.

Since its original incarnation the #BOLDSTAGE has continued to expand and evolved.  In 2016 the stage was reinvented for E3 as the #MIXARCADE a giant (fully functioning) retro arcade game. In 2018 the Doritos #BLAZESTAGE combined up-and-coming MC’s with legend’s like Busta Rhymes as the lead-in event for the Life Is Beautiful Festival.

By working closely with artists, performers, and integrating next-generation production design, these stages have become a festival favorite for music lovers and artists alike.

An interactive art lounge environment created for the Electric Daisy Carnival.  The activation featured a massive interactive LED Heart which ultimately became the site of several marriage proposals over the course of the event. True story.

A multi-year series of event experiences occurring at the Super Bowl and other key NFL moments. “Tositos Cantina” features a unique chalk-talk format that unites fans and their heroes in fun and unexpected ways. “Party Boulevard” brought the Big Game to life in a way that quickly became the talk of the town.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

RED BULL ART OF CAN - REDUX

Red Bull asked us to re-imagine their iconic and long running “Art of Can” event to include contemporary digital art, and large-scale installation art. The final gallery showcase was held in downtown Philadelphia and featured an interactive projection mapping show featuring Philadelphia's iconic City Hall.
